… and saying HELLO to Stephanie Uchima Events! We have a new name, a new look, a new branding and a new website!!!
When I started Preppy Chic Events five years ago, I was in my twenties and had a completely different style and outlook on life. I was fresh out of business school and had never started my own company. Because of my love for all things preppy, I decided to name my company Preppy Chic Events; however, as my company grew and as I grew, I realized that while it’s a “cute” name, it didn’t really embody the types of weddings & events I produce now. And so Stephanie Uchima Events was born.
The decision to re-brand, however, was a long one that started almost a year ago right after my 4th wedding season. I was at a crossroads in my life: I had just found out I was pregnant, I was 1 year into being married, and we were just about to undergo a huge home remodel/construction project. I spent a couple months going back and forward with “what do I want to do with my life?” Should I invest the money and work on my business or should I focus on being a mom or should I pursue something completely different? After a lot of soul searching, I realized that this was an investment I wanted (and needed) to make.
I am beyond thankful to Ashley & Malone (aka Ashley and Dallas) for all their encouragement, guidance, patience, and amazing work in helping build Stephanie Uchima Events! I emphasize patience because I finally decided to start the re-brand only two months before my due date and in the middle of my home remodel!!! It was chaos for the past few months (especially trying to answer e-mails at 3am while feeding a newborn), but they helped me get through it and now I am so excited to finally debut my new EVERYTHING!
While I will always be known to have a “preppy chic” style (yes, I love Kate Spade, JCrew and Lilly Pulitzer) and I will still be known as @preppychic on social media (I don’t want to lose that handle!), I hope you enjoy the new beautiful website and get a taste of what Stephanie Uchima Events is all about!
